Hector turned up on a doorstep starving and barely able to stand. He came into our care and is being looked after by one of our volunteer fosterers. We know from his microchip that he is at least 14 years old. Sadly his chip details are out of date so we have been unable to contact his owner. He has a long way to go on the road to recovery and is currently skeletal. Despite this, he is a lovely boy and is very affectionate.

His latest blood test shows he is deficient in vitamin B12 and has some problems with his pancreas, probably caused by inflammatory bowel disease due to malnutrition. He has had his first B12 injection. He will need one a week until the vet is happy that his levels are normal. Then he will need to take an oral supplement for the rest of his life. He is certainly enjoying his food but he may need a specialist diet if he continues to have pancreatic problems.

Hector is a beautiful boy and is building up quite a fan base.

Our branch is ran by volunteers and relies on donations from our generous supporters to be able to continue our work. Any donation you can make towards Hectors veterinary treatment is very much appreciated, no matter how big or small.

*Any funds raised above our target will be used to support other cats and kittens in our care*

Thank you so much
